Help your loved one stay scam-free! It’s not enough to fight the spread of the coronavirus, but we must also be aware of those who want to scam us. The Better Business Bureau warns that the Government relief checks trigger Coronavirus scams. How it works: you receive a message or see a social media post regarding the COVID-19 economic impact check. You click the link and are taken to what seems to be an official website asking you to enter your personal information and/or banking details. The site says it is necessary to verify your identity and process your check. NO MATTER WHAT THE MESSAGE, DON’T CLICK!

Tips to Spot a COVID-19 Grant Scam:

  • Government Agencies don’t communication through social media.
  • Do not pay any money for a “free” government grant.
  • Check for look-alikes.
  • Don’t assume an offer in social media is from a friend.
